The Period Drawings were designed by the SHQ Education & graphic design team, in collaboration with clinicians, clinical education team and many young women from the community.
These drawings are anatomically complete, culturally diverse, non-medical, non-shaming and suitable for use in community education.
The Period Kit contains images of:
– Uterus front view
– Uterus with period
– Types of pads
– Pads in underwear
– Period cup folds
– Positions of people inserting a tampon
– External view – insertion of tampon
– Internal view – position of tampon & cup in the vagina
They may be useful for people working in community education and contribute towards people gaining knowledge, skills, confidence and empowerment in understanding periods.
